Fraser fir - Abies fraseri (Pursh) Poir
Fraser fir needles are dark blue-green on the upper side and silvery-white on the lower surface. It has a pleasant scent, a uniformly pyramid-shape and can reach a maximum height of about 80 feet. The strong branches are turned upward which gives the tree a compact appearance The Fraser fir is a popular Christmas tree, which only grows at altitudes above 3500 feet. We bring in fresh cut Fraser fir from the mountains of North Carolina and keep them in water to preserve the freshness
